The story needs some rest and my fantasy as well. As soon as I can go on I will tell you. Thanks for your patience.
down on the ground and breaths in and out rhythmically. The toys had fallen down again but now one after another hops up and down. Alaana smiles.
She sits up and closes her eyes.
Alaana whispers. The toys circling around her. Zara is nearly with her. “IT CAN NOT BE!!!!!!!” Alaana suddenly shouts. The toys drop around her. Alaana turns her head towards Zara. “It can not be!!! she sobs. Zara sits down besides her and takes the girl into her arms. “Sht little one. It will be alright. It is nothing bad no matter what they have told you.” “I don’t want to be like that. I do not want to be like that.” The girls body shakes. She holds Zara so hard it hurts her. “They were right! I….I….” the words are overtaken by sobbs.
Zara keeps holding her and rocks her like a little child. She remembers the song her grandma sung to her when she was upset: “Be healed my child be healed” she humms. “There’ll be three days of rain and three days pain.” she starts singing hushed. “There’ll be three days of sun and three days of fun and you’ll be happy all over again!”
The girl calms down in her arms and relaxes. Zara keeps rocking and has a look around.
To the right is a tight path along high grey rocks where she came from. On the other side of the path is a row of light yellow larches. She was walking on most of their needles when she came along the path. Zara leans back on the warm stone. She has to hold her hand over her eyes to see but Alaana stirs so she keeps it down. ….
…. for a while. The bird gets smaller and smaller. Her eyes follow it until it reaches the horizon where a long turquoise line flashes along the end of the land. “Is that the sea?????” Zara wonders as she starts running up the stairs. She can not see more of it as the staircase follows the hills around erecura’s sanctuary. But she can see the dark green of the lake below with white freckles of swans. She can also see the burning red of the roses down below which plays with the lakes colours. From the stairs she can hardly see the huts around the lake as their colours hide them perfectly on the ground. She catches a short glimpse of the now broader turquoise line but turns to the left. She runs again but then stops abruptly. There is a little plateau reaching out into the landscape. There are wooden toys of all colours spread around and Alaana sitting in the middle hugging a nearly black toy wolfhound. The wooden toys start flying and circling around her but stop suddenly and fall. A bit later the same starts. This happens on and off as Zara carefully comes closer.
…. and spots a strange bird. Its colours reminds her of the storks nesting on the rocks half surrounding the sacred plateau of her people. But this bird is much more chunky and its beak is not red but cream. She watches it flying away to the east.
… a shadow rushes over her.
Need to have a look at what I wrote and how to improve it.
